End of the World

In case you missed it, the world did end, exactly according to prophecy. The end of the world started at the barycentre of the pyramid of the magician in the Yucatan and radiated out at the speed of light.

But the idiots who translated the prophecy forgot to translate the second page, which also prophesied that a new world would start with exactly the same initial data as was present on the outgoing lightcone of the end-of-the-world event. You didn't notice anything did you?

But what I really don't get is the self-hating "Westernized" Hindoos who fall all over each other to believe in the "new-age misinterpretation of Mayan calendar - the Maya Y2K" end of the world prophecy. Don't we have enough of our own revered and ancient crackpot astroboogers to believe in? Why do you have to outsource your insanity and take away domestic jobs from our own jyotishis and jadi-booti vendors?

5.10c - to the tune of Lemon Tree

5.10c (Five Ten C), to the tune of "Lemon Tree" by "Peter, Paul and Mary"

5.10c (Five Ten C) to the tune of “Lemon Tree” by “Peter, Paul and Mary”

When I was just leading ten, the Hardman said to me,
"Come here and take a lesson from the lovely 5.10c"
"Don't put your faith in cams nor Friends", Hardman said to me,
"I fear you'll find no protection on this lovely 5.10c."

5.10c very cruxy and the fingers find their jams
But the flares of the thin seam are impossible for cams.
5.10c very cruxy and the pockets are on the face
But the cams or the poor Friends are impossible to place.

One day beneath the 5.10c, belayer and I did lie
A grigri so tight that when it locked my nuts almost did die
We passed that summer hangdogging that bloody 5.10c
The music of jangling gear hid that Hardman's words from me:

5.10c very cruxy and the fingers find their jams
But the flares of the thin seam are impossible for cams.
5.10c very cruxy and the pockets are on the face
But the cams or the poor Friends are impossible to place.

One day I tried, without a hang, to get back the fun.
But the crack I had dogged and whined, it knew what I had done.
One after another, when I fell, my Friends it spat and threw.
A sadder man but lamer now I sing these words to you:

5.10c very cruxy and the fingers find their jams
But the flares of the thin seam are impossible for cams.
5.10c very cruxy and the pockets are on the face
But the cams or the poor Friends are impossible to place.

5.10c
5.10c
5.10c

Re "What Makes Chechen Women So Dangerous?" (NYT, Op-Ed, March 31)

To The Editor,

Re "What Makes Chechen Women So Dangerous?" (Op-Ed, March 31): While purporting to be an explanation of terrorism by Chechens, the article is nothing more than a barely disguised effort to criticize Israel and the simple desire of Jews everywhere to have a safe place to live and have families. One has only to replace "Chechnya" with "West Bank" - which the authors themselves seem to suggest- and "Moscow" with "Jerusalem", to see the clear anti-Semitic nature of the article. With the New York Times publishing such excuses for terrorism in its Op-Ed pages, does Israel have no friends left anywhere?

Oh Ba Rack Ob A Ma

Oh Ba Rack Ob A Ma, to the tune of Ob La Di Ob La da

Check out wizzymonster's karaoke version on Youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EuvZoxrHg9I if you want to sing along - say at some protest movement or MoveOn gathering.

Kenneth has a house on the market place
Barbie works two shifts at the plant
Kenneth says to Barbie, “Why can’t we sell this place?”
And Barbie says this as she takes his palsied hand

[Oh –Ba – rack O-Ba-ma Change goes on TARP
La-la how their change goes on]
[Oh –Ba – rack O-Ba-ma Change goes on TARP
La-la how does change goes on]

AIGM takes a trolley to the Geithner store
Fills it with two-hundred billion bling
Takes it back to throw Barbie out the door
And then Goldman Sachs/BOA begin to sing

[Oh –Ba – rack O-Ba-ma Change goes on TARP
La-la how their change goes on]
[Oh –Ba – rack O-Ba-ma Change goes on TARP
La-la how does change goes on]

In a couple of decades they have ruined a home sweet home
A future for the kids running in the yard
Of Kenneth and Barbie Jones.
MoveOn forever stays in its place
Gays still can’t hold each other’s hand.
Lynndie goes to war and does water in the face
And in 2010 they’re still in Afghanistan.

Yeah [Oh –Ba – rack O-Ba-ma Change goes on TARP
La-la how their change goes on]
[Oh –Ba – rack O-Ba-ma Change goes on TARP
La-la how does change goes on]

In a couple of decades they have burnt a globe sweet globe
A future for the kids gunning in Iraq
For Madeleine’s and Colin’s bones.
Happy ever after in the oily place
Cheney had let Bush lend a hand.
Hillary tours the world and weaponizes State
And in 2010 they’re mired in Pakistan.

Yeah [Oh –Ba – rack O-Ba-ma Change goes on TARP
La-la how their change goes on]
[Oh –Ba – rack O-Ba-ma Change goes on TARP
La plus ça change, la plus c'est
la même chose!

And if you want some hope chant ! Oh - Ba – rack Ba-ma!
